"Does anyone else get basset hair splinters in their feet? Three times
now I have been hobbling around thinking I have a splinter, only to
find it is one of Clara's hairs that has worked its way into the sole
of my foot."

AHAH! I am NOT the only person this has ever happened to!!!!! I
never walk around barefoot anymore, because of this very issue! It
first started happening years ago, wehn we only had Annabelle (and the
two dachshunds). It had never happened before Annabelle, so I guess
dachshund hair doesn't have the talent, only basset hair. It hurts a
surprising amount!!!

Momperson - as to chiropractic for dogs, I had it done with one
foster, years ago, who was rehabbing from a back surgery. It did seem
to help him recover... but he got adopted fairly quickly - by Lisa
Cherry, he was her beloved Gilligan - and she finished his rehabbing
process, so I didn't get to see it through myself, you know , to judge
fully.

I know of quite a few people who've had chiropractic done on their
bassets, or other dogs, who swear by it, and swear it has helped them
walk again, helped them live free of pain, and so on. I will say that
I have been seeing a chiiropractor myself for the past year, and it
has helped my neck and lower back more than all the meds, steroid
shots, nerve blocker shots, and epidurals I had done before it. So I
certainly reccommend it for humans who have spinal problems. And I
figure it can't hurt a basset who is already in pain and weak; I've
never known chiropractic to make anyone *worse*, dog or human.
