YES!  I have four, all bassets, and I can tell - they sound
different....slurp-wise....  as far as "tanking up", Barney and Bozlee
will do that now and then.  We have two large water bowls.. they will
often go mostly untouched for most of a day, then all of a sudden, all
four dogs will be thristy at once and empty the bowls.  (We used to
have a "recirculating" pump water bowl, s they had fresh-flowing water
all day, but Barney was - can you guess? - scared of the gurgling
noise it made).
