[Dailydrool] Prescription club for dog meds

This may have been discussed here before and I didn't see it. But I wanted to share because it's so cool. One of our foster families, Mary and Wayne, attempt to pay for their foster dogs' meds in order to help the rescue, but the costs are getting outrageous--especially since they care for so many. I've copied part of Mary's email to me. Their foster, Roscoe, is having a flare up of an anal gland problem. The vet's charge for a course of Keflex is $58.00. But, as Mary writes..... << She (the vet) said he had the beginnings of an infection again and wanted to give him more antibiotics.  She offered to write me a prescription that I took to Walgreen’s.  When I dropped off the prescription, they told me their cost was $28.00.  However, when Wayne went to pick it up, the girl told him that he could sign Roscoe up for their prescription club, and the RX would only cost $9.99.  Signing up was $20, but all of his future prescriptions will be $9.99.>> Wonder if Wal-Mart does the same thing, I'll have to check it out. I understand that all vets will not be happy with this, as they make their money on meds and vaccines more than anything else. But for folks with multiple pets and with the economy like it is--it could really help pets and their people. Every little bit helps.
