[Dailydrool] Basset Boyfriend

I am about a week behind on drools and I just read Rebecca's post about turning her boyfirned, Kit, into a basset loving boyfriend and wanted to share my story.

I have always had dogs, lots of dogs, we had 27 at one time when the local shelter was closing and all dogs left by 5pm where going to be euthanized.  Dad loaded me in the truck and off we went, it was just the 2 of us and 27 dogs later we were a "full" family.  We did find homes for each and every one of them, so that's were my love comes from....

Ok, so dating the BF (boyfriend) for a few years, we buy a house, half acre, fenced in.  PERFECT!!  I want a dog, he never had a dog only cats.  No dog he says.  We watch the neighbors across the street with their 3 bassets and some other type of dog, can't remember...it's comical, never saw a basset in person.  One day a van pulls up and about 6 bassets climb out of the van...it was really funny at this point...come to find out, it's the one and only Queen FeyFey and her entourage...the people across the street were friends with Rich and Dawn....are you droolers, lived on Northwood Ave. in Cherry Hill, NJ??????

BF says, that's the type of dog I want...ok...did some research on the breed, but wasn't aware of breed rescue's at that point, just shelters, so we bought our 1st basset from a puppy store (I have since adopted from Tri-State and the newest basset is from the county shelter).  BF said, ok we got a dog that's enough....we now have 3:)  I was going to start working on him for a 4th, but we are now expecting a 2 legger, much to the surprise of both of us, so I think we need to hold off on the 4th basset...sigh....  Not sure how my middle "child", Rusty is going to handle this baby thing...he may try to eat it, just like he tried to eat Stewie when he joined the family and just like he eats, poop, squirrels, baby rabbits, birds, baby moles, remote controls, cell phones, loaves of bread, blocks of cheese, etc...should be a fun adventure!!!!
