I need advise!!!

 

Ozzie has a bulging eye....sometimes....

This is the eye...that doesn't HAVE an eye!!

 

A year and a half ago we noticed that his eye (the one with the spacer in it that was sewed shut) was kinda swollen. Then it went down. It went up and down for a while...then last summer we woke up one day and it was HUGE (see a pic of it here: http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f385/sue117/DSCF1162.jpg)

 

So in we went and they took out his spacer. Super. Problem fixed.

 

Well last night I was looking at him and I said "Look at his eye...it's BIG again!!" Then about 3 hours later it wasn't swollen anymore (and it wasn't as big as before, but still noticably swollen). 

 

What is up? Has anyone encountered this?

 

It is not glaucoma because there is no eyeball in there! (I don't THINK they can get that without an eye right?!?). 
What else could it be? An infection someone else in his body that is causing his empty eye socket to swell? It's weird!

 

We did bring him in because he has a fist sized lump in his belly cavity that the vet stuck a needle in and said was all fatty cells...but I"m not convinced that is the case...I will probably bring it up again tomorrow night when I'm there. 

 

I thought I would see if anyone has had any experience with this weird eye socket swelling thing?
