[Dailydrool] naughty/tired hounds

Hi everyone,
Watson has the same issue of getting incredibly crazy or naughty when he's
exhausted. I equate it to a 2 year old who is just "running on nasty" as my
mom used to say. For some reason instead of going to bed, Watson sometimes
just starts breaking rules, running around, picking "fights" and just doing
anything he possibly can to keep himself awake. Sometimes, when we and the
other dogs have had enough of him, we'll just call it a day. Just like you
would do with a tired child who simply needs a nap, we give him a treat, put
him in bed, and leave him there until he falls asleep. It's usually not long
at all until he's out for the count, and when he wakes up, he's back to his
(mostly) angel self. Last night, we were up late in the living room, and
Watson refused to go lay in the bed and wait for me to be done working. He
also refused to lay down in the living room because he was probably afraid I
would get up and go to bed soon and he would fall asleep alone in the living
room. So, he proceeded to bark at the air vents, bark at me to get out of
"his" chair, pull the crate pads out of the crates, whine at me incessantly,
try to "play" with Daisy (my parent's dog) and do anything else he could do
to keep himself awake until I was ready to go lay down in bed with him. Even
after being scolded and given a constructive activity to go (chew on his
bone), he just got naughtier and naughtier until I finally just gave in and
went to lie down with him. Within 30 seconds he was out. Everybody probably
has days like that, you just go and go until finally you've got nothing left
so you drop.

Just our experience :)
We send drool to all in need.
Katie and Watson
