[Dailydrool] Senior Sale - Apology- kind of long

I have been properly admonished by my two senior gals Empress Ruby Doo
and Senior Nelly Belle. They have decreed that I must apologize for using the
words "Senior Sale" and I must agree. I did attempt to defend myself with the excuses of
"Momma is having a early Senior Moment. Momma was having a menopausal moment." and
of course "Okay Momma had a brain fart". The term that they have approved is Special Senior Adoptions.
I do most humble apologize to all the Seniors and their slaves who I may have offended.
I would never give up one of my two senior gals. Even though I love all my kidz, Nelly Belle and
Ruby Doo hold a special special spot in my soul. I can say that when my Tucker went to the
Rainbow Bridge all the girls were a great source of comfort for me. Nelly Belle and Ruby Doo actually
went the so called extra mile. Where the two younger gals would go and play I always had one of
my two seniors by my side comforting me. Nelly Belle snuggled close at night and I woke up
many nights with either Ruby Doo or Nelly Belle washing the tears away.
I like to think that this was the plan the two senior made to help me through. They are still
there when I have those tearful moments.
I have to admit that I have never adopted a senior from a rescue. In my defense though I went
after Nelly Belle and Bazzle (the buppy and my granddog) on my own because they needed me.
Though I know the rescues could have used the adoption donations, the almost $6000.00
in medical bills would have put a big dent in their budgets. Someday we will add another
drooler to our family, hopefully a boy (I miss my boy), more than likely a senior, but from a basset rescue
I don't know. Truthfully I know that if I come across that special drooler that needs me to
be there for them, then that will be the one that comes home with me... when the time is right.
Recently the kidz have welcomed in a special senior disabled sister kitty. Momma was begged
to take this pathetic undernourished little senior gal by her kitty rescue friend. We think she was
hit by a car some time ago but she was unadoptable due to the rear leg/hip weakness. Death row
time was up. Mary had her hands full with the 22 kittens she took in to the rescue and she knows
I am sucker for a sob story. Ayla has been her one week and is already making positive changes. (Yippee)
Much like Nelly Belle she is laid back, sweet, loves the other kidz and just wants a comfy bed, good food
and love.
We send drool to all in need

(Momma still hanging her head in shame!)
