Last month, I volunteered to pick up a Basset from a shelter near my home.  He was found wandering the streets in Broken Arrow, OK. I picked him up the day before he was to go to the Bridge.  Chris Dowd was going to take him at NMBHR in a couple of weeks.  I brought him home and he settled right in with the other dogs here.  He is neutered, house-trained and very well behaved.  He sleeps on the couch during nap time, and with my daughter at night.  My Annie sleeps with me and she said "no way" to him coming in our bed. I can't imagine that nobody tried to contact the shelter to find him. He is such a laid back, lovey dog. Chris contacted me yesterday and said she was arranging for him to go to NM on Thursday.  I talked it over with my daughter and granddaughters and we told Chris we would like to keep him, so she wrote back and said "Happy Gotcha Day, Oliver". So, I failed this test.
