                          Decision, Decisions, Decisions
by Maggie Honnold as told by Hollyberry Christmas
A trip to the back door is lots of good fun, sometimes I walk slow and sometimes I run.
A go down the back steps and wait by the door, so I don't make my Ma mad and pee on the floor.
She comes down the steps, opens the door just for me, and into the garage place I run with great glee!
For my Pa's garage is stacked high with stuff, which has made my Ma yell loud, "ENOUGH STUFF...ENOUGH!"
(my Pa is an auctioneer...he has LOTS of stuff)
I have to cut through there to get to the back door, which causes a sniffer and obedience war.
But from a Basset Hound level with nose to the ground, too many smells in that big garage abound...
I can't decide which way should I run...do I smell them right now or wait 'til I'm done?
'Cause I smell: kitties and mices and a cat box I do...there are garden tools, mulch and a nice boot or two.
AND...furniture, tractors, paint cans and toys; bicycles and roller skates for both girls and boys.
That's when my Ma says, "Holly, come here for in all of that stuff you'll get lost I would fear."
"There are too many things for a puppy to do so come here, come on girl...go outside now...just shoo."
But I am still learning about minding and coming, so it's not 'til she's chased me around I come running.
She then snaps on the leash which helps me decide, 'cause that leash on my neck...it won't let me hide.
And...it's outside I go for a romp in the yard, there are good smells there too and it isn't too hard
to decide what to do and which way to go ....for...my nose will I follow...it's not just for show.
I have a Basset nose...where it goes I go...not much of a decision after all...

Hpy Mudders Day, Lub Hollyberry
