[Dailydrool] Mango goes under the knife

So I dropped Mango off this morning. I think they will start the surgery soon. She has a little skin tag at the corner of her eye. I don't think it bothers her, but it drives me crazy so I asked them to clip that off too LOL. I did bring a bottle of propofol for the anesthesia induction, so that should save us $50. Every little bit helps, right? 

I hope we can start tapering the prednisone after this. She is on a pretty high dose - she got 20 mg twice a day for 5 days, now has been on 10 mg twice a day since Sunday. She also hasn't gained weight (43.0 lbs today - 42.8lbs a week ago) and is eating quite a bit (3 cups kibble, half can a day in two meals) so maybe getting the tumors off will allow her system to put on some weight. They gave her a body condition score of 1.5/5. Little ribs sticking out...at least no more vomiting and she's able to eat bigger meals since we started the reglan. Also nice normal stool - no blood since she came home two weeks ago after the bleed. I hope to pick her up on my way home from work tomorrow afternoon, so around 4pm, if all goes well. I know they wanted to keep her overnight to watch for bleeding. 

The vet covering the emergency side and there for 24 hrs is a friend of mine, our holistic vet, so I know she is in good hands and I can chat any time to see how things are going. I went over things with Carol before I left and she has my home and cell numbers and knows to call me for anything any time.

Oh, Kirby the Saint had his repeat xray yesterday and all is clear. He will finish his antibiotics on Weds and then all is well! His weight went from 135.bs to 143 lbs in a couple of weeks sogoing in the right direction (why am I never as happy when I gain weight?). He has been playing full out with Maya, Kahuna, and Pearl so I know he is feeling good.
