[Dailydrool] flooring

I've seen several people on the drool recommend vinyl laminate flooring 
for houses with herds of bassets.  Can anyone give recommendations for 
specific brands, and whether or not you should install it yourself?

Ginger and Alfie the Wonder-Beagle may be getting a new brother or 
sister sometime soon, and we have a little socked away to replac e the 
25 year old, urine-stained carpeting.
