[Dailydrool] help with skin problem

i am writing because i need the expert advice from droolers.......my 
son's basset Annie has a terrible skin condition, we can't figure out 
what is causing it......they have seen 2 different vets, and she is on a 
food specially for allergic dogs, i don't know the name of it, she is of 
course an inside dog, that is walked on a leash, and they don't see any 
bugs or parasites.....she has terrible itching, which causes her to 
scratch and bite herself, and now she has hair loss that is weird 
leaving round dime and quarter sized bald spots on her body, that are 
scaly and bleed because of her scratching......my son feels the diet she 
is on has not helped, and the vets keep prescribing benadryl and 
prednisone with minimal relief......the poor dog sleeps all the time!  
they have tried blue ear treatment and gold bond, but nothing really 
gets rid of it or eases her itching  my son feels so bad for her, and is 
at a loss for what to do..........the spots are spread around her body 
and only constitute about 10 % of her coat, and the rest of her coat is 
shiny and healthy looking.......they don't read the drool, but asked me 
to make a plea for any advice, diets, ideas etc because they know there 
is so much good experience here.......you can email me privately with
