You are so lucky. My dogs were much easier to teach than my kids. When
my oldest was about 7 years old, he had a little door slamming fit. As
a consequence, his bedroom door was taken off the hinges for 2 months.
You can't get him to slam a door now. At the time, we had a black lab
that was in the chewing stage. While is door was missing, he slept on a
bean bag in the door way to keep the dog from eating his toys. I
thought it would have been easier to put them up, but then again he has
always been more stubborn than a basset!
