[Dailydrool] Alpha female question

I'm finally caught up with the Drool.  I read the last week of posting last night frantically looking for the happy story on Clara.  I'm so glad she's feeling better.  Leaner and Meaner sounds like trouble.  Which brings me to my question.  Can 2 alpha females live in the same household?  We're scheduled to visit and possibly bring home a rescue older female.  Her foster mom describes her as an Alpha dog, but not aggressive.  I would use the same words to describe MacKenzie.  Everything else about this dog sounds wonderful and we're very excited to have our first rescue - - and an older dog.  We'll be bringing both dogs and introduce them.  What behavior should we look for?
