If there are polyps in the ear canal then there is nothing else to be done but have them removed.  They will trap bacteria and keep air from getting down into the canal.  If she has already had chronic ear infection and there is a permenant thicking of the tissue in the ear canal this will further narrow the canal and continue to cause problems.  Although a total ear canal ablation (TECA) can be painful it is 100% curative of the pain and ear problems.
