[Dailydrool] Will getting a friend for Gracie help her nervousness?

Getting a "friend" will help Gracie with boredom ... but many of the basic
things won't change. Also it could introduce a pack upset if there's even
the slightest doubt of who's the boss in your pack (pack of 1 isn't true,
there's you and your family that should be heads of the pack).

I'm all for getting another hound out of a shelter, or breed rescue, but do
so because you want to spend more time with hounds, and have room, time, and
$ to offer and take care of the hound... don't do it just thinking it'll fix
"this" problem or the next one..

Besides, you could get a carbon copy of Gracie ... you could get a hound and
Gracie and the new hound go into cahoots against the hoomans and while
you're gone take advantage of the empty house... evil loves company they
say.. :-) LOL

<snipped> She is about four and is still very playful around us, but cowers
at unknown things especially noises. We are considering rescuing another
young male basset in hope she will calm down some.
