[Dailydrool] doggy urine question

Hi Droolers,

We are searching for some suggestions regarding dog urine odor in our yard.
Our four furbabies are getting on in years, so when they need to urinate at
night time, we have them use the side entrance to avoid stairs (our property
slopes down in the back, but is level on the side). They always go in the
same area and come right back inside. We hose it off several times a day.
Our neighbors pointed out that on hot, humid days in August they were able
to smell a strong urine smell and they asked that we try and do something
about it. They pointed out that they can see we keep it clean, but that
doesn't help with the urine odor during hot months and water alone isn't
sufficient.

Since the grass died in the area where they always go, we put down a patch
of astro-turf, which cleans up easily and avoids all the mud from dead
grass. I guess the first thing we'll need to do is change the surface. Any
product or home-remedy suggestions for outside urine smell?

Thank you,
Rosemarie
