[Dailydrool] Thunder

We are having a big thunderstorm right now, so I am putting off taking the
cable equipment back. I've had Zuma 4 1/2 yrs now. The first summer I don't
remember any issues with thunder. The second, he started to get anxious and
it got worse later in the summer - drooling, stiff, shaking. The third, I
just gave him Rescue Remedy and the herbal calming tablets twice a day,
morning and noonish, every day since we had storms almost every day and they
came up pretty fast. Last summer, I started with the RR and tablets, but he
seemed pretty good and tapered off with him doing well and staying calm on
his own. Now, with some big boomers, I'm watching him alternate between
squeaking his hot dog and his frog, running from one end of the living room
to the other. I don't know what caused his anxiety a few years ago, but it
seems to have passed and he's fine. Who can explain Bassets? Not me...Oh,
Kahuna and Bud are sound asleep. Can't let a little thunder interrupt nap
time.

OK, too many things to do, so I'm disconnecting everything now. Drool to all
who need it and know we will be thinking of you and sending a steady stream
of drool as we travel cross country!

Synthia, Bud (Zzzz), Zuma (I'm no 'fraidy cat - what's a little thunder?),
Kahuna (I'll worry about it when I wake up)
