[Dailydrool] mini waddle and puppies

First- I want to say thank you to everyone who emailed me congrats and even those who questioned my sanity LOL... about the girls. There are so many of you that I have not responded to, the days just never seem long enough. They have been here over a week now and are pawfect! They are so close- but are including Elvis in their little 'club'. Peanut especially is always checking up on him. Sometimes when he is sound asleep he doesn't really appreciate it... ( picture the old-sleeping deeply a moment ago hound-with the deer in the headlights look- as she pounces on the edge of the couch to check up on him). Sometimes all three will snuggle up together, and that makes me very happy as Elvis is a 'buddy' dawg. Living with Ms.Brandy and occasionally even visits by Chilliepepper did not allow him such closeness. Peanut is very food motivated- she's the kind some of you write about. Not the kind I've ever had in this house. They both eat just their kibble. They do get dawg bones and baby carrots and twice now pieces of raw potato. No people food for these girls. Both are learning some basic commands. We've had more than 2 feet of snow in the last day and they LOVE it! I am so grateful that I was allowed to take both of them- they are very close and it breaks my heart to imagine one without the other nearby.

"ahemm... Elvis woofing in about my weekend. Let me start by saying that even though I am old, disabled AND sick I made it to Ohio for my buddy Chunkers' mini waddle. It was in memory of three Pw's after all and I had to be there!
We set out early on saturday and spent some time at auntie M's house before it was time to head to the pawrade. She slave decorated up the BUV with Johnny's m&m guy that he won in mishgun this year. They strung christmas lights on him and put a hushpuppy with a santa hat at his feet. He was almost as popular as us bassets! ( what do you mean they were taking pics of the m&m and not me???)
We got to ride the pawrade- I'm old remember?! After the pawrade I went to auntie M's house and spent some time with Uncle Gerry ( it was cold then) while Chunky, Olivia, Peanut and Peaches attended the pizza party. Thank you to all of you who sent moolah for me to take to the OH hounds!
We left just as the snow got started and headed home. The girls rode in their crate, while I enjoyed my share of pizza and some Krispy Kreme donuts we stopped for on the way. I was sorry to have missed seeing some of my buddies... their slaves chickened and didn't come...something about snow- harrummphh!"
