Dear Nancy,
Have you tried using treats? Treats to entice him to go outside and when he
does his business reward him again with the treat and praise. I have found
this works wonders and saves the back from trying to force them outside. Of
course, I do have one that looks at me like "I went yesterday, what more do
you want?" but she will always come running when the treat bag is rattled.
