The answer to all your of your question is not asimple yes and no... bassets just aren't that easy LOL- but then again so is no other breed. I think a good idea would be for you to contact a local rescue and perhaps consider fostering. This way you get to 'try out' the basset. A win win for all- and if it works out you can adopt!
