Elena,

Aspirin is not an anti-inflammatory I'm afraid, just a pain killer/fever
reducer.  I don't know about children's aspirin, but I've always been told
by my vet  to give the hounds "buffered" aspirin like Buffrin or the generic
equivalent because of their sensitive stomachs.
