Today would have (is) Buford, OEBE Garbagemeister Extraordinaire's  
11th birthday.  I shared 10 1/2 years with that beautiful soul (he  
found me when he was 7 months old) and everyone moment was special.   
He impacted my life in a way few humans every have.

Last night I returned from 10 phenomenal days in Ireland spent with  
500 of my closest friends (big university band trip) and am about to  
head over to the vet and pick up Della and Guinness--I had lost track  
of the days and dates while abroad and when I came in the house I  
looked at my desk and saw the photo on the calendar I sent last  
summer.  The photo of Buford was taken about a week prior to his  
surgery--he was struggling that day but his posture and demeanor seems  
to capture his approach to life.

I miss he every day but each day gets better.  Happy birthday baby  
boy--we'll celebrate with a special dinner for Della tonight.  I'm  
sure the bridge is throwing you a magnificent party.
