[Dailydrool] jumping the gate

I have been blocking my Matilda off from a room with carpeting for obvious reasons. For a while the 3-foot-high dog gate worked.  Then last week when I came home she would greet me in the forbidden room jumping with joy.  To my amazement the dog gate was still in place untouched.
So yesterday I put TWO dog gates there back-to-back.  And when I came home for lunch, there she was again in the forbidden room with both gates in place.
Who ever heard of a BASSET HOUND jumping a 3 foot gate?!!  I know that nothing can get in the way of a hound that wants something, but this takes the cake.  I rather admire her strength of character.
Today's plan: stagger the height of the gates.  If I were a gambler, I'd put my money on her.
