Basset Buddies Rescue of Texas has acquired 30 bassets from a puppy mill in Montgomery County near Houston Texas.  Luckily, other rescues in other parts of the U.S. have stepped up to help.  I'm not sure who all they are but THANK YOU SO MUCH!  But, BBRofTX is already busting at the seams with bassets and needs foster homes, adopters or help with boarding for the sweet mistreated hounds that still remain in Houston.  ALL are unaltered and we're sure most, if not all, have heatworms due to living outside all their lives.  Unfortunately, if you don't treat your dog for HW's in Houston you have about 100% chance of having an infected dog.  Then, on top of this, another extremely bad case of neglect arrived yesterday.  This poor hound has a severe case of mange therefore he has NO hair.  He is very dehydrated, weak and pretty much given up on this world.  Please take some time to look at their website at www.basset-buddies-rescue.org and if you can help in any way with these hounds please e-mail them.  Donations will be GREATLY appreciated as the vet bills will be HUGE.
