I am deeply deeply sad today.
I do not post condolences on the DD, as I do not intend them for  
public consumption, but right now I ache not only for the loss of  
these inspiring hounds, and in sympathy for their loving slaves, whose  
wit and contributions I have so much enjoyed, but for the fact that  
this news truly marks the passing of a torch.
I am sad to see it pass.
