The best product out there for stopping a strange dog is called Spray
Shield. Most of the chain stores carry it, or you can get it at
www.jefferspet.com. It is citronella spray, which works better on dogs and
causes less damage than mace. I carry it when I train and when I walk my
dogs.

I have heard that mace will not always stop a dog, but I don't know if
that's true or not. But this has worked for me. I have used it, and it did
not cause any lasting discomfort, but it did stop the dog. In my opinion,
every multi-dog household should have some handy.
