[Dailydrool] Bone Marrow question

There's a very good local butcher shop close to me where I buy marrow bones
for the dogs, have been buying them there for over 10 years. They have a
special freezer just for dog bones. I put the bones in the microwave and
heat just enough that any meat left on the bone is lightly cooked, and just
enough to heat the marrow so that it starts to pull away from the bone a bit
and turn more like a gelatin looking plug than a white solid plug. You have
to watch, it doesn't take more than a minute or so if the bones are thawed,
and you don't want to get the marrow too hot or it liquefies. After
heating, remove from microwave and let cool to room temperature, then
OUTSIDE with the bones, they're unbelievably greasy, and getting that grease
out of the carpet is just nearly impossible. According to the girls, marrow
bones are deeeelightful.
