I thought I would update everyone on how Izzy is doing with her anxiety wrap.
Izzy is one of GGBR 61 bassets and is 7 yrs old. She has severe fearfulness and
distrust issues of everything and everyone. We have made a lot of progress in the
6 months she has been with me but we have a long way to go.

There is a big difference between when she wears it and she doesn't. She is so
much more secure when she has it on. I have been testing a couple of different
ways to use this with her. I tried leaving it on just for short times. Then using it
during the day and then off at night. Then on for 6 hours during the day then back
on at night.

The big test happened when we had a 2 day block yard sale with lots of traffic. Both
days I was in and out about the same amount of time. The first day I let Izzy wear her
wrap all day and she did well. She failed miserable when I left it off the next day.
She pretty much stayed in the bedroom hiding out and didn't bother to greet me when
I came in. She also didn't come out even when we did the happy gang song. I put the
wrap on her at around 4pm and by 6 she was much more secure and coming in the living
room. She was also much less skittish that night and didn't have the "flight" response with
every noise.

Izzy does pretty good with walks in the parks without her wrap but in the neighborhood
she freezes many times on our walk. One thing that I learned from our trainer is that when
she is relaxed her mouth is open. Though we still have some freezing on the neighborhood
walks she is much more relaxed with her wrap on and her tail is in a half up position.

Last night she slept without her wrap and I didn't sleep well because she was so anxious and
jumpy all night. This morning I got up and let her out to go potty. She was in her normal
non-wrap behavior with skittishness and tail tucked. I put her wrap on and within 10 minutes
she was a happy girl with her tail up. Instead of trying to hide in the bedroom she was running
in and out the door and was staying in the living room. She just came walking through the house
with her tail up and is taking her morning nap in the living room.

I won't tell you that the wrap is a perfect fix all solution because Izzy has a long way to go yet.
I can honestly say that Izzy is a much happier girl with her wrap on and most definitely worth the
price. One added benefit is that I can soak it in some cool water to help her keep cool on our short
5-10 minute training walks.

My next test will be the anxiety face wrap.

We are sending copious amounts of drool and our prayers to all in need. Sandi, we are all
praying for a speeding recovery for Johnny. Harry your are amazing! Bless Harry for leading
you to a safe and loving haven with Brenda and the Thundering Herd. Trooper welcome home,
you are yet another Phoenix who will rise up with all the care and love you will receive. May
karma come around and bite the bad people right in the ______.
