Thanks for the corrections, Laura! We do all this in consultation with our
vet, of course. Because we have a lot of dogs and fosters in and out
constantly, we have a separate rotating monthly deworming protocol that we
developed with our vet based on the generics available at the feed store.

One other thing -- while I used to give all my own vaccinations for my own
dogs -- not fosters, who need a record of it -- we've since stopped that and
gone back to having the vet do it. That way I'm sure that everyone gets at
least one yearly well dog exam and I've got great documentation on all
shots. There are plenty of ways to save money without skipping a valuable
preventative measure every year. Vets will see stuff I don't and can help
nip problems in the bud.
