[Dailydrool] Looking for recommendations for basset transport wagons (hand-pulled/pushed)

Aloha. My husband has decided that it would be a great idea if he, I, and our two bassets went for a several mile hike each evening after he comes home from work. My husband is a little "fluffy" (neither am I Twiggy) and Bill has decided such a walk would be a good antidote for couch potato-itis and a good way to share the day "as a pack". I agree with him and am willing. Our lively basset, Harley, also supports this idea with considerable enthusiasm. This is Harley's dream.

The problem is our "fluffy" basset, Bo, the one who has had all the health problems this year. Exercise would be good for him now too--he is recovered from his four surgeries total now, and on medicines which are keeping his condition in check. But--he has discovered the power of "No"; and also flat-basseting. Morse would be proud of him. It is hard to get him to move more than a half-block total, and that is a power struggle, despite our best Cesar Milan leash technique attempts. (And my husband can be pretty pack leaderish when he tries; it's just that Bo, basset to the bone, would rather have his feet scraped bloody and his neck dislocated than comply against his will). Curiously, Bo used to like to walk too, but since all his problems, he has changed quite a bit. My husband says it is like having an 8 year old child (Harley--c'mon, let's hike), and a 2 year old child (Bo---whatever you say, my answer is NO).

So Bill has decided we need some sort of little red wagon, jogging stroller, garden cart, wheel barrow, something to bring along to load Bo into when he goes flat, so we can just proceed and let him ride. I know this has been done at Waddles but have never been to a Waddle so I don't know what works best. So I am asking, is there a particularly good hand-pulled/pushed basset transport vehicle for this purpose? I noticed a canvas four-wheeled folding garden cart which holds up to 150 pounds in the "Solutions" catalog. Has anyone tried one of these? I'd love suggestions. Thanks, Val, Harley (I love to hike), and Bo (No! You can't make me! Ha! So there!)
