Hey, Karrie.  I am so sory to hear that Emma has arthritis so bad;
poor girl.  Bozlee and ector both take Deramaxx, which is an
anti-inflammatory pain medicine, for their back and hip arthritis, and
it seems to really help them.  I buy a big bottle at a time; it lasts
a couple of months, and is much cheaper in bulk.

I am sure lots of other folks will have lot sof other helpful
suggestions for you.  As for the smelly carpet, my advice would be to
rent one of those carpet steam cleaners things - they're usually only
about $20 bucks for a 24 hour rental- and use white vinegar in the
cleaning solution, along with some Odo Ban (at Home Depot). You;ve got
tp get the cleaningf fluid all the way down into the carpet pad, hence
the steam cleaner. Vinegar neutralizes the poop smells pretty well, as
does Odo Ban.  Hopefully that will make it bearable to live with..
