[Dailydrool] No Names Mentioned

I just put the boys to bed. They managed to make it through another day
without too much damage to either each other or themselves, altho I think
Conley may have an interdigital cyst in his back foot, and I found warts all
over one of Nigel's hocks. (Lots of loose skin or I would have seen it
sooner.)
However.
Yesterday someone whose name will not be mentioned in this brought home
windshield wiper solution and set it on the edge of a little table in the
kitchen. I said, you cannot leave that in here: it is poison. It has
anti=freeze in it.
No it doesn't. It isn't poisonous.
It is too.
It is not etc etc etc.
So I gave ground for the time being. I did set it up on the counter.
*******
This evening I looked for my measuring cup to warm up some dog food. It was
missing. I asked a person who shall be nameless if he had seen my measuring
cup.
Yes, he said, he thought he had left it outside.
OUTSIDE???
Yes and it has poison in it.
And the nameless person laughed. I looked out the window and saw the cup,
tilted dangerously on a ledge, well within Basset reach, (and I mean WELL
WITHIN REACH) with about a quarter cup of the solution in it.
Now.
I'm mad.
Not a little. I said, this stuff IS poison-- and I read him the label where
it clearly states in bold letters CANNOT BE MADE NON-POISONOUS
I said it IS poison and you not only used *my* measuring cup without telling
me but you left it where the Boys could reach it.
I will not bore you all with the remainder of this discussion but it is one
of the few times when I have been absolutely furious with the un-named
person and he had no defense other than stupidity. We have made up and the
measuring cup is his now, and the solution in the cup is down the drain and
the big bottle is in a place where it cannot fall or tip over or if it does
it will not be reachable by dogs.
I am relating this to remind everyone that it is almost winter, and pretty
soon anti-freeze and windshield wiper solution will be more prevalent, and
we need to be sure that we guard our wonderful hounds from ingesting it. So
be careful, everyone, and watch out for the idi---uh---people who don't
think.
