Hi all, Snoopy here,
Wow, this morning was busy. momPerson, Natalie and I went downtown. We've been
downtown before, because downtown Campbell is very dog friendly. I've been
downtown Willow Glenn too. I LIKE people. Well, we went downtown but today was
different. The main street was closed and we parked near the train station and
walked a block over and there were ...... tada .... bassets!!! Lots and lots
and lots of bassets. momPerson was worried about finding our group. momPerson
worries too much. If you had to find a group of 50 bassets in a crowded staging
area do you think you could find them?? Yup. Ahroooooooo. They are not tough
to find. There were a lot of bassets, more bassets than I have ever seen. I
was not the only basset wearing bunny ears. There were all different sizes and
colors and most were very friendly bassets who liked to sniff and be sniffed. I
think there might have been 40 or 50 bassets in our little group in the parade.
And that was what it was, a PARADE.
Well, we bassets had an area of the staging just to ourselves, well, us and
ponys. Livestock. I am NOT livestock. I wanted to sniff the Pony's butt. I
actually did a couple of times when momPerson wasn't looking but she kept
telling me the Pony might kick me and leave his butt alone. I sniffed him
anyway. He picked up his back foot and gave me a dirty look.
I met a bunch of bassets. I was mostly polite. I occasionally lunged a little
bit and I made a few less than friendly sounds but mostly I was fine. Every
time I did a little something momPerson would say "Snoopy that's not what we do"
and someone else would laugh and say "I don't know, he's not the only one doing
it." I was having fun meeting everyone at first but then we all got crowded
into a smaller area and it was a bit tense until ...... tada ...... Snoopy on
parade!!!!!! I LOVE to parade. I chose a spot in the middle and I was prancing
and strutting my stuff and then I headed toward the side and got swarmed by a
bunch of little kids (I LOVE little kids) and they were grabbing my ears and
petting me everywhere and I was in HEAVEN. And then we had to run a little bit
to catch up with the group and then as soon as we caught up I did it again, and
some of the other dogs were doing it too. Golden Gate Basset Rescue had some
foster dogs in the parade too and they got to meet a lot of people. The
announcer was saying how nice we bassets are and how we like attention.
I had fun. If you ever have a chance to march with a bunch of bassets then go
do it, it's fun. And you should listen to your momPerson and wear your
headgear. That turns out to be fun too.

P.S. momPerson uploaded a picture of me and my bunny ears onto dogster. I'm
sitting with Natalie before the parade starts.
