We had a pack of four with Bea the basset (spayed female), Thumpy the
pit-basset (male), Bugs the Australian Shepherd mix (spayed female)
and Max (ATB) the Great Pyrenees (neutered male); Bugs was the alpha.
We rehomed a bonded threesome of Bassets to give us a pack of 7.
Willie is a neutered male, Dora and Val are spayed females.  We had a
couple growling matches in the early days but overall they got along
really well.
Willie slowly took over the alpha spot by ignoring Bugs.  She would
bark at him when they lined up to go out and he would walk right by
her like she wasn't there and stand in the front.  He's the most
passive alpha I've ever seen,  They all sit and wait their turn for
treats no matter who gets theirs first and they each eat meals without
any problems.
Thump and Willie have never fought (knock on wood) and play together
really well.  They all play together every morning; it's really fun to
watch and they know we enjoy it.
I give Willie the credit for everyone getting alone so well; he is
really calm and easy going and if anyone grumps at him he just ignores
them. He is my heart boy and if I'm petting another he will squiggle
between us so he is closest but he lets me continue petting the other
hound too.
