[Dailydrool] Objectionable posts

I really feel for the folks who read through the objectionable post that has raised such a furor on the Drool. But I'd like to remind everyone that when they run into something they know will be disgusting or irritating, they do have the choice not to read it. That's what I did as soon as I saw the direction that post was going in. What I read was bad enough. We can all stop partway through a post and skip to the next one.

The Drool offers all of us a lot of good things, but when someone posts something we disagree with or find otherwise objectionable, no one twists our arms to read it. We don't get brownie points for reading everything--we get to choose just what we want to read. Sometimes when we don't have time to read it all, we skip things. We should do the same when posts start to get nasty like this.

Next time, please, fellow Droolers, stop reading before something awful enters your mind and won't be gotten rid of. I feel for those of you who are in this situation. If it happens again, just stop reading and move on.

None of this is to say that I approve of the post in question. But no one is perfect, not even our wonderful moderators. I'm glad they are there and catch 99.9 percent of the awful stuff. Thanks, moderators, for the great job you do.
Pam, food slave to the Dashing Bassets
