[Dailydrool] MODERATORS - OR NOT?

Contrary to popular (or at least the moderators) belief, I am definitely for a
moderated group. I respect the job they do and some of the decisions they have
to make not only on fundraising issues, but on whether or not it is ok to use an
anatomically correct word. It may be a thankless job, but it is something they
choose to do. What I don't agree with is the way some posts are pulled based on
personal feelings. Here are my thoughts.

Moderating is good - Censuring is NOT good.

The definition of the job of a moderator is to edit or remove posts for the
following reasons:

1 - Excessive vulgarity and profanity

2 - Direct, extreme attack on or flaming of another forum member

3 - Pornography including details or images, and links that do not pertain to
the thread

It should not be to censure a post because there is a disagreement with someone.
I thought that I was the only person getting posts pulled until I read that
others were as well. I questioned why a group of people had the authority to
choose what I can read and what I cannot. I believed everyone on this list was
intelligent enough to make their own decisions based on the input of
well-meaning members who were always there to give advice. These are my
feelings and I will leave it at that. Thanks for listening.
