[Dailydrool] couches, sofas etc/

I think a leather sofa would be lovely but Thunder, my son's dog would probably eat it.  He loves leather and we have all learned the hard way to put our shoes up and away.  DH caught him carefully pulling his leather belt out from his pant loops.  He brought him over to  hhis girlfriends house and while there he chewed at least 2 pairs of her shoes.    We are spraying our things with bitter apple.  I hope it works but I still keep my shoes out of his reach.  He is a big dog and has quite a reach.  His taste for Blackberrys seems to be one per year.  He is also fond of books, not good in a family that reads a lot and has plenty of books about the house.  he willl do this when we are at home but more often when we go out, not that oftenn.  When my son lived in his own apr=artment he destroyed 2 wooden door and some of the carpeting.  He has not done this here but then he has the companianship of mutlifple dogs/  He chewed DH's checkbook , the new one was sprayed with the bitter apple and it only has a few tooth marks.  So far the rest of the pack has not picked up these habits.   Since he loves other dogs I do not mind putting up with the occasional destruction and it is a nice excuse to buy a new pair of shoes.
