Our Sweet Sarah (ATB) had entropion sugery when she was about a year old. We saw the problem earlier than that, but waited to see if she'd get "baggier" as she grew up, with the hope of baggies pulling her eyelid down and away from her cornea. That didn't happen, so we had a doggy eye vet do the surgery. Our usual vet said he could have done it, but that the eye vet was the best.

They basically take out a little triangle of skin near the affected lid, sew the triangle together, and that pulls the offending lid back in place. Sarah had absolutely no problem with the surgery, she never bothered the stitches, there was no need for an e-collar, and it worked just as advertised. It totally solved the problem of her eyelashes scratching on her eye, and you couldn't tell that anything had been done to her.

I would not hesitate to do it again if any of our dogs needed the surgery.

Hope that helps calm the jitters for you and Bernie,
