News flash! The Instititue for Paranoid People for Science has just sent out a warning concerning very young humans. It has lately been discovered that sleeping near or interacting with small children can form a health danger for older humans. The IPPS has uncovered the dangers from coexisting with young children, whose germs can easily infect parents, grandparents, and even chance acquaintances. Youngsters often sneeze on toys and eat with silverware and dishes, though their mouths are filled with germs. Any adult who picks up these child-held items should be certain to wear plastic gloves and sterilize those objects. Children under the age of potty training also endanger older folks with their uncontrollable pooping, which must be cleaned up.

Unless perfectly healthy, adults should avoid these mites, since serious illness, including colds, pneumonia, and parasites could endanger the elderly or immunocompromised.

If you are not avoiding the little humans, maybe you should. Seems to me that sleeping with dogs is safe by comparison. After all, the article did say that zoonoitic transmission is rare. Who among us, even those who do not live with the little humans, has not caught a cold or something more serious from those of the same species who share our environments?

They act as if one would not take sensible precautions concerning dogs, just as one would with the tykes. I think I have more serious things to worry about than getting diseases from the hounds.
