[Dailydrool] hot Spots

I feel like such a bad bassetmom.  Poor Elvis has a large hotspot on his chest.  I swear it wasn't there yesterday; but today it is all gooey and he's soooo miserable.  We went to see the vet (she said it was almost cellulitus?) and she put him on Cephalexin  for two weeks.  I'm supposed to try and keep it dry and not let him scratch at it, but he's not real happy with that.  I made him some little socks for his back feet and I can't believe it but they're still on! I'll take them off before he goes to bed if he's good.  The worst part is...he's whining...ALOT...I feel so sorry for him.  I rub him and pet his pointy little head but as soon as I stop, he starts again.  Poor little guy...any suggestions to make him feel better while waiting for the antibiotic to take affect?  Vet said he should feel better in 2-3 days.  Thanks.  You guys are the greatest!
