Once a Basset tells you "There's something under there" the chances are
about 98:2 that there IS  something under there,
The chances that anything besides barbed wire will keep the Basset away
about about 99:1
The chances that you need to hire someone to get under there and find out
what your Basset found is 100%.
Don't be stupid and go under there yourselves. It could be anything from a
skunk to a feral cat and kittens. It could be a badger, a fox, dragons,
anything.
We've been through this.
It was raccoons.
