[Dailydrool] counter cruising

My daughter says that Bassets are like slinkys.  They're short so they look like 
they can't reach anything up high.  When the opportunity arises, their necks 
telescope out until they can reach whatever they want.

My first basset, Bourbon von Wrinkle, could reach anything.  He would then take 
it out the dog door to consume in private.  Half the time we wouldn't know he 
had scored until we were missing something or found the remains in the back 
yard: glasses, gloves, hats, loaves of bread, you name it....

Randee and the White House Gang  of whom only Dan (the obedience trained one) 
countercruises.  And he didn't start till he was 10.
