[Dailydrool] allergies & Itchies

ALLERGIES ????????  oh boy do we know about allergies,  it is a  full time 
job trying to keep Maggie comfortable,   NO PREDS !!!!   my first Basset 
died of liver failure because of the over use of preds for her  allergies.  I 
started Maggie  Wags on allergy desensitizing  injections  and they are a 
tremendous help,  but not a cure all, she  will still get flare ups just like 
humans do, I give her a bath every two weeks  with a special shampoo and NO 
OATMEAL here either.  Maggie is allergic to  oatmeal.  I feed her California 
Natural lamb & rice  or California  Natural Chicken & rice,  trust me, I 
have done a major search on foods  and there are lots of good foods out there, 
but most,  not all ,  have  either oatmeal, barley,  peas or potato or 
potato protein or alfalfa  in them and Maggie is allergic to all of those.  so I 
searched  for  one meat ( protein )  and one carbohydrate that is how I came 
up with  California Natural, Flint River also as a good lamb & rice,  but 
all of  their other products, Maggie is allergic to their ingredients .
 
I have also just realized that Maggie is allergic to her heartworm meds  
because almost all heartworm meds are flavored tabs,  she is allergic to  
beef, so she has a major breakout for about 7 days after taking her  heartworm.
 
Jackie,   did you say Pierre likes Pizza ??  oh gosh  Maggie & Annie love 
Pizza,  all I have to say is " PIZZA MAN IS  HERE"  and they both run for the 
back door,  but we are good slaves  and have sacrificed    ourselves  
because Maggie is allergic to  the Pizza crust, so we stopped eating Pizza and 
Annie can't understand WHY she  has to sacrifice herself for her stupid 
sister.  we have been EXTREMELY  diligent  lately about what Maggie gets and even 
our vet said that this is  the best he has ever seen her look
