[Dailydrool] Bonded pairs

Well, I'm back from a lovely holiday on the Greek island of Crete. Now it's back to the real world. Firstly, drool to all the two and four-leggers who need it. There certainly have been some frightening times in the US recently, along with all the journeys to the bridge and sickness.

Can anyone explain to me exactly what a bonded pair is? What makes a pair "bonded". Is it a pair like Rolph and Clara who snuggle up together when it's cold and who would miss each other badly, or is it more than that?

Some might remember a week or so ago I managed to get a pair of bitches into a foster home. They are a lovely couple. Daisy is a healthy, happy, KC-registered four-year-old and Poppy is a small, shy, very gentle six-year-old, who has a broken tail and came, at some point, from a puppy mill. Finding them seperate homes would be far easier and I want to keep them together if I possibly can. My question is - how do I tell if they really are a bonded pair or not?
