Probably not. We have three hounds, and each sheds at a different level.

Abner will fill the house with fur when his longish hair begins coming out in clumps.

Jane gets delicate little clumps on her hindquarters and does a modest amount of shedding.

Bel had a thin coat and barely sheds at all, even when I take the Zoom Groom to him.

I think it's just the individual dog.

Now watch, some silly person will try to breed a non-shedding hound! Good thing my Belvedere is fixed.
