Oh, that sounds so familiar. Whenever I'm on the phone or the computer,
Archie gives my elbow the toss-up punch to get my attention and keeps it up
until I stop, turn around and give him a smooch. I finally figured out that he
hates it when I turn my back on him. He seems to take offense whenever I
turn away from him and he can't see my face. I tried moving his bed closer to
the computer desk, so I can look down on him at my side and he seems ok with
that. Periodically he will again sit up and give me the nosy nudge until I
acknowledge he is # 1 with more smoochies and scratches.
Why do we put up with this kind of treatment? I guess it's our "pack"
mentality, you know, once you've been owned by a Basset, you have to admit that
they are the alpha and the 2 leggers are just there to accommodate their
every need. I don't know how those of you with multiple "alphas" manage, you
must be true martyrs for sure.
Best to all,
Judy & Archie in Fresno "Mom, I need another blankie over here."</HTML>
