Yahoo still won't let me put subject lines in, and my computer geek has disappeared, so I have no one to ask how to fix it! My topic today is scents and the hounds.

Tonight I took Holly and Dexter, the two fosters, for a walk together. I noticed something I've seen with our hounds before but never thought much of. How come both can walk in the same area, but they do not stop to smell the same things?

Of course that is not true of some really nasty smells, like cat poop. And occasionally for some reason I am not aware of, every hound will go to the same spot. But mostly, as we took our walk today, Holly would be sniffing one place, and Dex another. Though they were not far apart, they did not exchange places.

You'd think, wouldn't you, that a good smell would be a good smell, and both would want to enjoy it. But it doesn't seem to work that way.

Do some things just smell better to one basset than another? Or is Dexter just deferring to Holly?

Inquiring minds just want to know.
