[Dailydrool] Eating Dirt

Momma here--oh I so read this one with interest---the Beach Gang are all dirt eaters. Nothing like a good munch of dirt and then come in and garle in the water bowl. 
I too have asked doc and anyone else that has ears why a dog eats dirt. Doc also laughed, had no answer. So I thought must be a missing vitamin. Well--maybe not so much--these hounds are in better shape than I am. I read bags, look at ingredients, make sure they have vegetables, cook for them, supplements where needed. And they still eat dirt. It does appear worse at some times of year than others, but still-----
I too have tried to stop them. I give up. I honestly think if I filled up the dog bowls with dirt they would be perfectly happy.
I would love to help Sue, but we are in the same bowl of dirt together----and I have no answers---
