[Dailydrool] Miss Angela surprises

Bill here, press agent/personal trainer to Miss Angela Basset,
Droop and Drool Diva of Wichita and Sedgwick County

I guess I thought that I had seen it all in my nearly nine years 
with Angie.  She has settled rather firmly into late middle age,
sleeping more and demanding less in the way of outside time.
But she hasn't been walked much since I banged up my ankle
splitting wood, so she's becoming a bit restless.  

When she feels that she's not getting enough attention, like many
bassets she will go into the bathroom and pull an item (usually
underwear) out of the laundry basket.  She will then bring it out
to within about ten feet of me and shake it vigorously, inviting me
to play tug of war with her while simultaneously chiding me for
neglecting the personal trainer part of my job description.  

This week, Miss Angela raised the ante a bit, bringing one of my
new loafers out into the living room.  Since I was reclining with my
foot up, I just ignored her.   Mea culpa.  I know that I am falling down
on my job.  Somehow I must have looked really injured, because
a couple of hours later I went into the bedroom and found the shoe
returned to sit by its mate!  Either I am becoming somehow mentally
incompetent and forgot that I replaced the shoe, or Miss Angela did
it herself.  Amazing!   I was going to hug her and love her up to thank
her for it, but she was snoring so peacefully that I had to postpone
the grateful attention.
